Grammy Award winner, Mark S. Doss has sung 92 roles with numerous opera companies around the world, including Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, the Vienna State Opera, San Francisco Opera, London’s Covent Garden, Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Canadian Opera Company.

Last season Mr. Doss sang Cadmus in Henze’s The Bassarids with the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Jochanaan in Salome in Mallorca, Spain; and the title role in Verdi’s Macbeth with the Dorset Opera (UK).

Highlights from the season before include Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Ottawa Symphony and Choral Society, Jochanaan with the Theatro Municipal in São Paulo, and the Colonial Soldier in Nicholas Lens’ World Premier of Shell Shock at La Monnaie in Brussels, Belgium.

Previous seasons found him singing Jaroslav Prus in Janacek’s The Makropolus Case at La Scala, the title role in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Premysl in Janacek’s Sarka and Alfio (Cavalleria) with the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Four Villains in The Tales of Hoffmann in Tokyo, Japan; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Princeton, New Jersey; Simone in Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie in Turin, Pizarro in Fidelio with Dorset Opera, and Vodník in Rusalka (alongside Renée Fleming) with the San Diego Opera.

Future performances include Méphistophélès in Faust with the Ópera de Oviedo in Oviedo, Spain, a fundraising concert for the Fokulé Cultural Arts Center in Cleveland, Ohio; and the Grandfather in the World Premiere of The Time of Our Singing with La Monnaie in Brussels.
