Mezzo-soprano, Magda Gartner, has made her New York City Opera debut this past season in Respighi’s La Campana sommersa as the third Elf as well as L’Aurora in Los Elementos (Literes). She recently appeared as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with Opera Pomme Rouge on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In the summer of 2016, she was a Young Artist with Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble (NYC) and was performing Musette in Leoncavallo’s Bohème and Flora in La Traviata. Other roles in her repertoire include Carmen (Carmen), Componist (Ariadne auf Naxos), Octavican (Rosenkavalier), Dorabella (Così fan Tutte) and the title character in Rossini’s Cenerentola. In addition to her vocal studies, Ms. Gartner holds a Master of Music in piano from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
